A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required for the Executive MBA degree. No core courses are required for the Executive MBA. The Human Resource Management major prepares you to perform various facets of human resource management functions, including recruitment, selection, training and development, and compensation. They take human resource management courses as well as general management courses in leadership, motivation, communication, organizational development and design. The Wichita State University program is the Kansas Board of Regent`s System`s only degree in human resource management. (Note that for any course with a non-B-A prefix, the course description is listed under the department offering the course.) Students who complete the core program at WSU with the required cumulative average are eligible to receive a certificate in general business administration. For more information, see Certificate Requirements. Course requirements for a minor are different from the main requirements for a student. Due to possible overlaps in major and ancillary requirements, some students are not eligible for certain minors. Career opportunities are varied with a business background. Options include manager, statistical advisor, entrepreneur, human resources manager, information systems specialist, accountant, consultant, investment broker, security analyst and market researcher. Jobs are available in the private, public, not-for-profit and government sectors.

Carson College of Business` MBA program has nationally renowned faculty with additional levels of faculty support that encourage frequent, personal interaction between faculty and students. The MBA program focuses on mastering knowledge and applications in today`s business environment. The CCB offers two MBA programs as part of the MBA degree: the Online MBA (OMBA) and the Online Executive MBA (EMBA). During your time at WSU, you will need to excel inside and outside the classroom. With a focus on professional development and developing a global business perspective, Carson Cougs is expected to participate in internships, become a student leader, and learn about business from a global perspective. Students may complete two majors in the Business Studies program. To declare a double major, you must complete at least 15 additional credits. These credits must come from courses that: Wichita State University is the only Kansas Board of Regents institution that offers a real estate degree program. By providing a major across four different majors, Wichita State University allows you to customize your degree program in a unique way. Students who wish to acquire a real estate major can do so through the following majors: Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, and Marketing. To remain a major at Carson College of Business, students must meet at least 2.50 Business GPA. Students who do not meet these requirements are subject to Academic Rule 53.

Only general electives that are not University Common Requirements (UCORE), that are not Basic/Major requirements and that are not offered by the CWC may be successful, fail. All core course requirements in the general education program must be met by students enrolled in a bachelor`s degree program at Wichita State University within 48 hours of enrollment, without visiting student credit or AP credit. Make an appointment for a meeting with your business advisor if you wish to declare a second major in business. The following Core Business courses are designed to provide business majors with a solid foundation in business, strengthen their professional skills, and achieve the learning outcomes listed above. Business administration is a vast field that touches virtually every area of life, from work at home to leisure. Because business is conducted in many environments – person-to-person, in large companies, on the internet – the minor in business covers not only the fundamentals of finance and accounting, but also marketing, business management, and current technology. Faculties from all disciplines produce scientific and applied research on Pullman`s main campus, as well as on campuses in Everett, Vancouver and Tri-Cities. In addition to these campuses and a thriving global campus, international activities include partnerships and/or programs in Chile, China, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Tanzania and Thailand.

The Chair of the Department and/or the Senior Associate Dean of the College must approve in writing all business courses to be taken by transfer, correspondence, independent study or other credits. Additional transfers, correspondence, and independent student loans (within University limits for these credits) may count towards the 120 hours required to earn a degree and/or meet other requirements as core courses. The Carson Career Amplifier Program (CCAP) engages students in extracurricular activities and programs that provide students with the opportunity to develop skills and work experiences sought by employers. In addition to the required courses, graduating from Carson College of Business requires students to meet several categories of extracurricular requirements each year. The categories are based on a subset of the National Association of College and Employers` (NACE) career preparation skills and include: Your first step as a business student is admission to Carson College of Business and the official declaration of your business major. To do this, you must meet a number of admission requirements and submit an application. Most students meet their admission requirements for the second or third semester. First, verify that you meet all of the requirements listed above, and then visit the Carson Centre during consultation hours to learn more about the requirements for different business minors and submit a request for an explanation from your minor. Once your application is submitted and processed, the requirements for your Business minor will appear in your myWSU Academic Requirements Report. Students must complete 6 hours of composition in English, 3 hours of communication, and 3 hours of college algebra with a grade of C – or better each in their first 48 hours of college. If this requirement is not met, a student will be excluded from enrolling in higher division business courses.
